It's that time of the year again when Christmas crafting is on our minds. This year we have a number of quick and easy crafts to share with you to hopefully help make your Christmas gift giving not only unusual but unique. .
Here at Let's Get Stitched & More we can be quite time poor as are a lot of our subscribers but that doesn't mean that you can't hand make Christmas gifts. Here is the first of our quick and easy tutorials. The Hershey Kiss-Mas Tree.
You will need a 15cm Polystyrene cone (Big W sells them in packs of 3 in their craft section) or alternatively you canmake one from card board. A packet of Hershey Kisses (Reject Shop has the Candy Cane flavour at the moment for $5 per bag). Pearls on a string or tinsel, pre-cut glittery stars or snowflakes, Toothpicks, Hot Glue Gun, Glue Sticks.
Starting at the base of the cone glue the kisses onto the bottom working your way all around.
You can leave the little tag on each kiss or snip them off as I have done.
Keep gluing them on all the way around until you reach the top.
Don't worry about the gaps we will cover them soon.
Next make your christmas tree topper by joining together 2 of the pre-cut shapes and placing a toothpick in the middle.
Poke it down through the top.
Next starting at the bottom glue the beginning of some tinsel or string of pearls and wrap it all around the Hersheys all the way to the top like you would tinsel on a Christmas tree. This will cover all of the gaps. Pop a dab of glue at the top to secure the end in place once you have covered the tree.
And Voila - You are done !! So quick and easy but so effective and perfect for a quick gift or as a centrepiece in a gift hamper.
The Hershey Bags at Reject Shop contain approximately 62 Hershey's and approximately 40 are required for each tree. We hope you have fun making them.
